Our Refinishing Process
New Generation uses a four-step process in bathtub resurfacing - Protect, Prep, Paint, & Pick-Up. Your bathtub will be cured and ready-to-use in only 24 hours!
Step 1 - Protect
Our specialist will first protect your bathroom by clearing any items in the bathroom as well as covering areas with plastic sheets that are not being refinished. Our painting method has very low fumes and over-spray, but we take extra precaution at every opportunity.
Step 2 - Prep
We will then begin prep work on the bathtub. In combination with the coating products used, this is where a long-lasting and durable finish is made or lost. If the surface is not correctly prepared, the chemical bonding that needs to take place will not occur. This is why many surface restoration companies fail, because they do not take the time to correctly prepare the surface. Preparation work consists of sanding the old finish as well as filling any cracks and chips. Depending on the type of finish, an acid-etching product may be used to clean and prepare the surface for the new coating to bond with.
Step 3 - Paint
New Generation uses the Glas-Tech 9000 method to provide beautiful and durable surface. The product is described more below. Once the surface is properly prepped, a priming agent is applied. After this cures, three coats of the Glas-Tech acrylic-urethane hybrid compound is applied to provide a deep-shine and enduring surface.
step 4 - Pick-up
That's it! In only 24 hours, your surface will be ready to use again. Our crews will clean up all work areas, remove plastic protective sheets and restore removed items to your bathroom. We will also review all the do's and do not's that will help you keep you newly refinished surfacing looking beautiful for many years!
