DIY REFINISHING KITS: DO THEY WORK?

Bonding Process

Proper bonding to porcelain, fiberglass, metal, and ceramic surfaces requires professional strength bonding agents. The bonding and delaminating chemicals we use, which vary depending on the type of surface, are not sold through retail channels. If your DIY kit includes a "bonding agent", it is usually just alcohol or acetone-based, which is not sufficient to provide lasting strength.

DIY refinishing kits are primarily applied using roll-on or brush-on paint, instead of a professional spray gun. This will leave an uneven surface with brush or roller marks. Professional refinishing applicators will provide a perfectly flat surface that will make your bathtub look like new!
